Imagine driving a classic VW Bug, without any of the classic Bug short comings.  No valves to adjust, no oil
changes, no points to adjust, no drum brakes to adjust, no noise, no vibration, and no pollution.
Imagine the smiles when you pull up at work or a restaurant and you get out of your classic Beetle and everyone
wants to know about your car.  What year is it?  Why is it so quiet? When did you get it?  How far can you go?
Well I don't have to imagine, I drive one every day.  It's fun to drive and is a rolling conversation piece.  I have met
a lot of people over the years because I drive classics, but few cars have the nostalgic sex-appeal that the classic
Beetle has.
Having owned Bugs in the 1970's and early 80's, I was very familiar with the maintenance and performance of the
vehicles.  I've even raced Bugs.  But not having owned a Bug for 25 years, I forgot just how fun to drive they are,
and how much maintenance they require.  The valves, oil, and points need attention every 3000 miles, the drum
brakes require adjusting, and I was only getting around 20 miles per gallon.  But I enjoyed driving the Bug and
testing its handling and performance, so that we would have a benchmark for comparing the Bug's performance
after we converted it to run on batteries.
We logged over 1500 miles of real world tests to gain comparative data as well as determine modification
requirements.  We used bags of concrete to simulate battery weight and placement.   We recorded RPM statistics
for each gear, as well as braking, acceleration, and handling specs.  We spent over a year in research and study
before our first conversion.  With intimate familiarity of the VW Beetle and a degree in Electronics Technology we
strove to create the best electric Bug on the road today.
After all was said and done, we had a car that is fun to drive, inexpensive to operate, reliable, easy to maintain, a
classic, as well as a modern non-polluting EV.
Our Bug conversions have four wheel disc brakes, which don't require adjustment, and stop as well as or better
than a stock Bug.  Heavy-duty anti-sway bar, to keep the Bug level when cornering.  Vented polypropylene battery
boxes with clear polycarbonate tops.  Polypropylene is the material used in the manufacture of battery cases.
Polycarbonate is used for bullet-proof glass. The clear tops allow you to visually inspect the batteries without
removing the tops.   As you can see, we use the best materials, but also stand apart by design.  When charging,
the battery boxes are vented by fans that run automatically, and when the Bug is being driven, scoops under the
vehicle channel fresh air through the boxes.  The fans can be turned on manually also.
Most of the propulsion components are mounted on a common heat sink, which makes for a clean look, but also
easy repairs or troubleshooting.  The engine compartments are enclosed to keep road debris, dirt, and moisture
away from the motor and electronics.  I'm sure you will see others copying us in the future.  We include full
instrumentation to help maintain a reliable commute.   We use stainless steel hardware, and top quality
components throughout.  The Bugs accelerate as fast as the stock Bug with a 1600cc dual-port gasoline engine.
Have a top speed of over 85 miles per hour, and a range of 30 to 50 miles, depending on terrain and driving
habits.  They can be recharged by plugging in to any 120 volt AC outlet.  When fully discharged, it takes
approximately 6-1/2 hours to fully charge.  With the ability to charge at work, you could have a 60 mile round trip
commute.  Our conversions have no problem on the freeway, and I personally drive one on I-5 regularly.  As a
matter of fact, the Bug rides and handles better on the freeway after conversion, than it did as a gasoline powered
vehicle.  Quieter too.
We find, restore, and convert classic VW Beetles, but we will also convert your classic Beetle.  We can also help
you do-it-yourself.  We offer advice as well as components.  Our goal is to enjoy the ride without stopping at the
gas station.  Besides, with all the attention the Bug gets, you won't have time to visit at the gas station too.

And don't think we only do VW Bugs, we convert other vehicles as well.
