EV4U Custom Conversions designed and built a Show/Marketing vehicle, which
they named BOB (Battery Operated Bug).  In the following pages, we chronicle the
conversion of BOB, a standard 1974 Volkswagen Beetle to show the process of
converting a vehicle to run on batteries, with the objective to have a non-polluting,
rechargeable electric vehicle.  This is covered in three parts.  Part I we introduce the
project, the vehicle, and preparation for the conversion.  Part II details the
conversion process from gasoline powered to battery power.  In Part III, we will
restore the vehicle with new paint, interior, trim and custom accessories.
